Vanessa Buitrago started GTM in 2015, not long after arriving in this country. She had always been someone who built things of her own back in Colombia, and she saw a trade worth building a company around.Vanessa Buitrago fundó GTM en 2015, poco después de llegar a este país. Siempre había sido emprendedora en Colombia, y vio un oficio alrededor del cual valía la pena construir una empresa.

In the beginning it was small and it was hard. She cleaned, she ran the office, she handled the clients, and when a job needed another pair of hands she did that work too.Al principio era pequeña y era dura. Ella limpiaba, llevaba la administración, atendía a los clientes, y cuando un trabajo necesitaba otro par de manos, también hacía ese trabajo.

In 2020 the company nearly closed. It would have been the easy thing to do. Instead Vanessa kept it open, and her closest friend, Beliana Vélez, backed her and became her partner — without a background in construction, on nothing more than trust. Six years later they still run it together.En 2020 la empresa estuvo a punto de cerrar. Cerrar hubiera sido lo fácil. En vez de eso, Vanessa la sostuvo, y su mejor amiga, Beliana Vélez, confió en ella y se convirtió en su socia — sin saber de construcción, solo por confianza. Seis años después siguen al frente juntas.
